The effect was created in acrylic on canvas board by first painting the sky and cloud wet into wet, then waiting until dry before masking off an area for the main telegraph pole. The big tip to get the crisp edges to the pole is to next paint the area using a transparent medium so that any bleeding that takes place is in the transparent medium. Let this fully dry before painting the actual colour for the pole, and when this is dry remove the masking tape.
