UK Art Academy - Calamansac Cornwall
Art Academy holidays: Luxury accommodation in stunning locations. Enjoy a week on the Clamansac estate in Cornwall. Our secret hideaway on the bank of the Helford river, opposite Frenchmans Creek. Its not too far from Brambles but further west and deeper into Cornwall. This location affords us the luxury of access to many iconic sites in Cornwall and to paint in the amazing light of the south west.
Brambles Art retreat dates:
May 2nd – 9th – 2025
The Sail Loft – Four guest rooms, a lift to access both floors, and the most amazing views form the glass fronted lounge.
Calamansac Est Wing – our main base, four guest bedrooms, a large communal lounge, and a kitchen dining room with fabulous views of the garden.
The very west of England
Stunning scenery and amazing light
We love to host at this amazing location. Calamansac is only 60 miles west of Brambles but it gives us much more accessibilty to the best of Cornwall.
We can visit St Ives, St Michaels Mount, Ancient Tin Mines, the beautiful gardens of Trebah, Gweek, Port Navas and other local villages.
There’s also so much to draw and paint on the Calamansac estate itself. The house is set in 56 acres of gardens, has a twisted oak forest, and one of our favourite places to visit is the private riverside beach famous for it view of Frenchmans Creek. In the past there was an oyster bed near here and gorgeous oyster shells wash up on the shore everyday. We also head down to the boat yard, great views of the port Navas coastline, a host of yachts and quiet lanes lines with flowers and trees, for plenty of plein air painting.
The gardens are beautiful and are well looked after. The owners husband loved his garden and planted it out with wonderful plants and trees that provide colour and scent all year round.
